Whew!!

Well, we survived the week! It was a doozie though. But, everything looks good. Brewer just happens to be in the 1% of the population that has unequal pupils, so nothing to worry about!! But, the opthamologist did notice that he is already developing astigmatism. Oh well, no biggie...just means glasses at some point. It is so amazing to me that they can tell that so early. I think kids with glasses are so cute!! Although, I am sure it is a booger trying to get them to keep them on!! We will cross that bridge if/when we get there!

Shilow is now without her uterus! YAY!! No puppies here! We have enough on our plate. Don't want to add any puppies to it. She did great and we will get her staples taken out next week. She is still just as hyper/spastic as usual, guess it is not hurting her too much.

Emma's teeth looked great and she did such a great job at the dentist! She loves that place and I am so relieved that it is not a struggle to get her there.

Last appointment was the urologist, and he thinks that Brewer's circumcision needs to be redone. Boo!! Not fun. So April 27th is the date. They said he was old enough to get liquid lortab...so that makes me feel better!! I just hate we are having to have it redone. But better now than later!

Well, next week is Spring Break and we are headed.....drum roll.....NO WHERE! We will be here all week, but hopefully it will be pretty and we can get out!! I hope all of you who are on Spring Break and going on trips have a great time and be careful :)

Say a little prayer for me that I make it through without having a nervous breakdown and that I don't forget anything!!

Brewer's Check-up

We went to Brewer's 6 month check-up today (he is almost 8 months). We were a little late getting in, but he is 20 pounds and 7 ounces and 28 inches long. He is in the 75th percentile for weight and height. However, his head is in the 90th percentile!! I think that is so funny. It must be all those brains in there :O) He has always had a big head. It was a whopping 14 inches around at birth....and I felt every inch :) Love that sweet boy. Everything else looked good. Poor baby had to get SIX shots today. I felt so bad for him!!

Dedication

Last Sunday we dedicated Brewer at church. Now this is supposed to be a baby dedication, but we were a little late. I knew we had to hurry up and get it done before he could walk up there. It was all so nice. Wilson and Joan drove over from Atlanta and Ms. Wanda and Bug came too. We all had lunch at Shangra-la, our favorite Chinese restaurant.
I am so glad we got to celebrate dedicating Brewer's life back to the One who gave him to us. I feel SO blessed to have two happy, healthy children. They are so much fun and make life so much sweeter.
Yesterday Emma had her Thanksgiving program. Bobby got to come, which he usually doesn't because of work. Emma was so proud to have both parents there. She was so cute up there singing and she knew all the words and motions. So proud of her!!
Monday Brewer has his 6 month appointment, finally at 7 1/2 months!! We have had so much trouble getting in. So, I will give y'all an update on his growth!

Fish Tales

We went to the lake on Friday night to wind down from the week. On Saturday morning we all (My mom, Emma, Brewer, Bobby, and me) loaded up into Bobby's little aluminum boat to go fishing. We were trying to look like real rednecks...and I think we were succeeding. I did pretty good. I am always so excited when I do better than Bobby does because it irritates him so bad! Emma even helped me reel one in!

Fish count:

Bobby: 1

Mom: 1

Katie: 6

Yay me :)

Here is a picture of the fish I caught the summer before last (pre-Brewer). It was over 8 lbs and so close to beating Bobby's record. I will continue to try!

Obviously I am not a real "fisherwoman" because I don't want to
touch them, nor do I take them off the hook!

This is Bobby's (my fish getter-offer--and that is a technical term for those of you who aren't fishers) big fish. Of course he has some goofy look on his face...as usual! He doesn't like to smile for the camera :)

Bud

Bobby's sweet grandad passed away yesterday doing what he loved to do. He was getting his deer stand ready for this hunting season and he had a massive heart attack. He will really be missed. I hate seeing my husband hurt!! Bud was a huge part of Bobby's life. RIP Bud!

We are having so much fun right now! I am cherishing everyday because I know before long, I will wake up and they will be 18 years old and headed to college!
